The Latest Paperless Initiative: Electronic Billing Statements

Image of a laptop

To increase efficiencies and decrease our carbon footprint, AF has moved many arbitration and subrogation processes online over the last several years, significantly decreasing the amount of paper sent and received. Our latest efforts in 2015 are E-Statements, electronic billing statements that members retrieve from the AF Web site.

Notices are sent via email with a secure link where members may retrieve their electronic statements as a Portable Document Format (PDF), an Excel spreadsheet (XLS), or comma-separated values (CSV).

AF has made significant progress toward transitioning our membership to electronic statements for billable arbitration transactions. To date, 370 members are using electronic statements for billable arbitration transactions, representing 98.3% of AF's billing.

Improving the Member Experience

Our member arbitrators continue to render quality decisions that address all arguments and provide a detailed analysis of the evidence to explain their rationale.

The following member testimonials were recently received:

"The decision was fairly detailed. It had clear explanations of how the arbitrator came to the decision."
"The explanation as to why she decided the way she did was very detailed. She also noted what additional evidence could have been beneficial to our party."

AF sincerely appreciates our member arbitrators' efforts in helping AF provide effective and efficient products and services to our membership. AF is also thankful to our members for taking the time to provide feedback and recognize these efforts.
