Reminder: Modify Awards if Liability Deductible/Self-Insured Retention Applies

Modifying the award when a Liability Deductible/Self-Insured Retention applies is a critical step in rendering a decision. If this is overlooked, the member must take extra time to resolve the issue by filing a PDI. 

If you are not already doing so, we ask that you please pay close attention to whether a Liability Deductible/Self-Insured Retention should be applied to your decision. If this is asserted, it will appear as a workflow step (Liability Deductible):

After you have confirmed the amount and that it is a Liability Deductible, as shown above, you will need to modify the award under the Filing Party’s Damage Recovery (in this case, the 2017 Honda). Scroll to the bottom of the vehicle workflow step and look for the Award Summary. A message alerting you that a Liability Deductible/Self-Insured Retention applies will appear:
